Perodua started its operation by producing a single product and small-compact city car Perodua Kancil the ever so popular brand among Malaysians since 29th August 1994. On a single shift, it is also capable to produce 100,000 vehicles per annum. It has the prime automotive velocity in the country at 75%.
It is the first Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) high-tech innovative manufacturing facility in Malaysia. It undertakes the assembly of the vehicle engines and also manufacturing of selected engine component parts. It is the subsidiary that is in charge for the Perodua vehicles manufacturing process. Perodua vehicles are also marketed in international countries such as United Kingdom, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Fiji, Nepal, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. So far, PSSB has 182 sales branches and 183 service branches on a national scale to serve its customers efficiently. It is accountable for the sales, marketing and distribution of all Perodua vehicles as well as after sales and spare parts operations. The plant now has the capacity to fabricate 350,000 units per annum. PCSB is the one responsible to manage the manufacturing operations of the Perodua Group. Besides Perodua, the two other joint venture partners of PCSB are Daihatsu Motor Co. It was established in the final quarter of 2001.
Perodua Group is consisted of five (5) subsidiaries, for instance: The location of Perodua headquater is in Sungai Choh, Rawang, Selangor where the 162 hectare site occupying its corporate building, Research & Development testing laboratories and styling studio, vehicle test track, manufacturing plant, engine plant, pre-delivery inspection area, vehicle distribution stockyard, part warehouse, Perodua Learning Centre, mosque and a child care centre. Perodua was officially launched on 1st August 1994 by the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dato’ Seri Dr. Currently, there are seven (7) shareholders of Perodua such as: Perodua gained many advantages through its successful joint ventures with large and international-recognized automobile manufacturers from Japan, especially Daihatsu Motor Co. or commonly known as PERODUA is one of automotive manufacturing and assembly plant in Malaysia.
